Umit Unal

Turkish designer, Umit Unal has been running his private, Istanbul-based atelier since 1992. Working alongside a small team of artists and craftsmen, Unal develops androgynous collections featuring neutral tones and various textures like washed silk, hand painted denim and cotton knits. Having spent his childhood in his family’s atelier, the attention to detail in each garment can be seen in its intentional masculine proportions and hand stitched elements. We celebrate his work for its practical luxury and ability to transform classical shapes into reimagined must haves.
