Isabel Benenato
Isabel Benenato is profoundly Italian. From her childhood in Naples raised by her mother, a seamstress who worked with her brother’s tailoring company, and with her maternal grandfather, a passionate artist who filled her family home with his paintings, she developed her own passion for drawing and design surrounded by fabrics while watching her mother at the sewing machine. After studying foreign languages and literature at the University of Pisa, Benenato pursued her dream to design, and launched her own women’s collection in 2008 which quickly attracted great stores worldwide. To Isabel Benenato, the presence of black and white is fundamental, both are an expression of the soul. While black represents mystery and sensuality, white projects light and purity, the opposite of darkness. Her design is based on an imperfect perfection that encompasses the human being itself. Music, art and photography are her main sources of inspiration, everything always comes from these key points and that's why, over the years, her collections always seem to have a common thread that makes them very recognizable and indifferent to current trends.
"I like to think that my clothes are a kind of armour, a protection against the outside world,” says Benenato who bases everything she does on respect for the environment starting with the materials used, to encompass the purest concept of ethics and respect for human value.
